Another week has gone by on the Sunny Streets of Custom House. Lets have a look and see what’s been happening.
Assault 22/08/2026 (Prince Regent Lane): Three males started a fight with employees and caused damage inside a restaurant. The victims were punched and kicked, and one victim was unfortunately bitten on the back. Theft of Vehicle 22/08/2026 (Leslie Road): A Honda motorcycle was stolen. Theft From a Vehicle 24/08/2026 (Leslie Road): Whilst traveling along Butchers Road, two males on a motorbike pulled up next to the car reached in and took a phone from the dashboard. Theft 26/08/2026 (Ethel Road) Parcel stolen from doorstep. Burglary 24/08/2026 (Hooper Road / BJ Wines): Police responded promptly to an attempted burglary where a suspect tried to pry open the shop shutters. Following a foot chase, officers successfully detained and arrested the male in Hooper Road.
With approximately 20,000 people living in Custom House, I know that the good people vastly outnumber the bad. As a police officer, I rarely get to hear about the daily good deeds unless someone bravely steps in to stop a crime. I often feel like I am only sharing "doom and gloom" with you. So in an effort to balance the scales, I invite you share news of any Good Samaritan that has helped you in some way no matter how small, if you share your story with me, A single sentence is all that is needed, I would love to highlight it here, even if you do not know their name. I’m happy to share your stories so we can spread some positivity across Custom House Until Next Week

Did you Know… If you’re a fan of Game of Thrones you will know that instead of a trial by evidence you can opt for a trial by combat, well that was a real thing… In 1818 murder case (Ashford v Thornton) allowed the accused to challenge the victim's brother to a physical duel with weapons. The court agreed the law allowed it, forcing the victim's family to drop the case rather than fight. Parliament rushed to pass an act the next year to ban the practice for good. | ||
